Re: Comparisons and skipping words

Hi Ron, I have a question related to the second "that" in answer choice A and C. Much appreciate if you could answer my question. In answer choice A and C, they are saying that "it is the fixed costs that stem from building nuclear plants that makes it more expensive..." and &quo...

Re: why d is wrong,

Hi Ron,

In correct Ans (A), I am trying to understand why there is no "by" in front of burning calories? is this ellipsis understood? I almost chose Ans (D) because of that.

Ans (A):
"rather than (by) burning calories to generate it"

Manhattan CAT

Hi,

I would like to know if I can only do the Manhattan CAT test for the verbal part but not for the Quant part and still get a result for the Verbal and have the option to do that Quant part later? I am not sure if I will lose quant part exam if I skip it.

Many thanks,
Patrick

Re: GMAT PREP 1 Question

Hi Ron, In Ans E, "Unlike the tiny tubes that convey nutrients to bone cells, which in mammals are arrayed in parallel lines, in birds the tubes". I know that E is not correct because it does not follow a strict parallelism rule and compare all the tiny tubes with the tubes in birds. Howev...

Re: GMATPREP2- VERBAL 10

Hi Ron, I know answer E is correct. However, I eliminated E at first glance because I feel the highlighted portion should be in a passive voice . So it should be "was taken four days by swift messenger" rather than "took four days by swift messenger" . The whole action for the ne...

Re: why A is wrong ? SC

Hi Ron,

What is wrong with Ans (D) then? It correctly uses "subject to" and "standard for". So it is wrong because "they" as a pronoun does not have a clear antecedent?

Cheers

Re: GMATPREP2- VERBAL 10

Hi Ron, I still don't quite understand why Ans E should not be a in a passive voice. Ans (E): new of these shots took four days by swift messenger to reach New York City and another eleven days The main reason I do not understand is that the wording in (E) "by swift messenger" clearly show...

Re: A different variety of giant tortoise can be found on every

Hi Ron, Should a COMMA + each modifier serve to refer to the NEAREST PRECEDING PLURAL NOUN? So, in Ans A, "each" should serve to refer to the Galapagos (the nearest preceding plural noun) and the answer is non nonsensical then. I know correct answer is always correct so I would like to und...
