3rd Ed. Guide 3 Linera Growth P.85

by ray_serrano Fri Sep 11, 2009 7:04 am

How does (54 + m) + 0.20(54 + m) becomes 1.2(54 + m)? Where is this covered in the guides?

(54 + m) [ 1 + 0.20 ] => Factor the common (54 + m)
=(54 + m) [1.2]
= 1.2(54 + m)

I think this can be more clearly seen if we let x = 54 + m:

(54 + m) + 0.20(54 + m)
x + 0.20x
1.20x
1.20(54 + m)

Hope that helps.
