"Although+participle" vs "though+participle"

by JaneC643 Tue Sep 30, 2014 4:26 pm

Hi, experts,
I have a question when I study for the sc. A lot of problems use" although+participle", which is thought wrong by gmac, the reason given is that "although" should be followed by a clause that has a complete subject and verb. However, the question in og verbal #48, the correct answer use "though+participle", I am so confused about it. I assume that "although" and "though" apply the same principle here.

To avoid copyright issue, I change the original sentence a little bit.
"Though called fish by many people, the whale actually is mammal."

Thank you!

"Although" can be followed by "__ing". Check out #35 in OG12 / #36 in OG13.
