does 'which' modify/refer to the noun "town" or the whole noun phrase "The banning of alcohol by the town"
This kinda stuff has been discussed in few other threads ; but I haven't seen a concrete rule nailed down.
where did you get this?
the gmat will never use "which" unless it's preceded by a comma, so i can tell that this is not from an official problem.
here's what you should do:
* go post this in the GENERAL VERBAL folder (where it belongs, since it's not official)
* post the WHOLE PROBLEM it comes from, with ALL ANSWER CHOICES
* NAME THE SOURCE of the problem.
thanks.
