As the honeybee’s stinger is heavily barbed, staying where it is inserted, this results in the
act of stinging causing the bee to sustain a fatal injury.

Can I say that '...with the result that...' in E is a modifier not enclosed in two sets of commas...which is a certified Ron rule I read somewhere..

Whenever you are using the word "with" to start a modifier that modifier is an adverbial modifier and does not require two sets of commas.
