BEST TIME FOR OG VERBAL REVIEW, QUANT REVIEW AND Q PACK 1

by divyaprakash4u Sat May 17, 2014 12:49 am

Hi!
You must be aware that there are 4 main official sources for GMAT prep questions: The OG, OG for verbal review , OG for quant review and q pack 1. From what I have read elsewhere one must finish the OG before doing anything else. I have done this myself.

My question is should the verbal and quant review be left for the last few weeks of prep? Also should the GMATPREP question pack 1 be left for the last too? The reason why I am asking this is because I feel one needs a GMAT like question source in the final leg of one's preparation in order to gauge the improvement from the 1st few weeks of prep( solved OG and sat for 1 gmatprep test(660) in the first few weeks of my prep).

Kindly give your feedback and also mention how many weeks before the exam should one start working on these 3 official practice sources.

P.S my exam is exactly 1 month away from today and I have only finished one official practice source (OG 13). Got 690,690 and 680 on MGMAT mocks. Yet to try the remaining 3 mocks.

Thanks!!

I would save the GMATPrep Question Pack for last in your prep because it allows you to build random problem sets very easily. Use these for your review stage (more on this below).

I don't think you need to plan to start the questions from any of the OG guides within X weeks of your real test. If you've already used up one book, feel free to start with the others.

Do make sure, though, that you're learning from these questions, not just doing them. Most of your learning comes after you've picked your answer.

It's also a good idea to read this:

For the last couple of weeks of your prep, do this:

Good luck!
