I am an engineer planning to kick start my GMAT prep.
Being a newbie i dont have nuch information on where to start off with, but i have a list of books.
The list of books are as follows:
Powerscore-critical reasoning
princeton review for GMAT
12th edition OG to GMAT
Aristotle Grail for Sentence correction
and last but not the least Advanced GMAT Quant Strategy Supplement by Manhattan GMAT....
PHEWW.... a long list i would say...
I would request you to help me with how to go about with these books (As in which to start first and how to go about the prep?)
What should be ideal study hours to achieve ~720 score?
I am working, so what should be my best strategy. And what is the time period within which i shd give my exams.
I think answers for these question would atleast take me to a decent direction..
Thanks in advance...:)
cheers!!
peace..
Hi ferrari_me,
Welcome to the forum! Unfortunately I'm only familiar with the ManhattanGMAT book and the Official Guide and not those of our competitors. Maybe other posters here will be able to advise you on the quality of those books.
The Advanced Quant book is a great book to use, but only after you are very solid in more fundamental math. Have you taken a practice test? You can take one for free at our website. The Advanced Quant book is appropriate to use once you are hitting about 70th percentile or better in quant.
It is very hard to say how much one should study or how long to have a chance to get a 720, which is an incredibly elite score and difficult to obtain. It really depends on where you are starting. If your current score is 650+ you will have a different path than if you are below 600, for example. This is yet another reason to take a practice test so you can see your current level of performance.
I hope that this helps and that you will report back once you have taken a practice test.
Best wishes,
