Complex Sequence Rules

by Sim Sat May 19, 2007 11:15 pm

Hi,

Source: MGMAT Equations, InEqualities and VIC's guide, Chapter-4, Page - 58.

I wanted to know if we would get any problems where I would need to use following sequence formulas? And how many and what level?

kn+x
an+bn+c

Thanks.

You may see one or two sequence questions on the test but unlikely to see more. Difficulty levels can vary - this can be written as relatively easy questions or quite difficult / tricky ones.

Also, just FYI, the second formula you listed below is actually:
an^2 + bn + c

Generally, if you are going for a 750, you need to know everything, just in case. If you are going for a 700, you might want to know this. If you are shooting for under a 700, you should review it so you know the basics and can handle straightforward questions, but don't spend too much time on it.
