Consecutive Integers Problem - Alternate Solutions

by tony_stark Wed Jun 13, 2012 1:11 pm

Hello Experts,

I apologize if this is in the wrong thread, but I cannot seem to post on the OG Math forum.

I was going through the MGMAT questions for Consecutive Integers and OG12 problem PS #116 has a solution (in the OG and online) that doesn't use any of the consecutive integer principles in the solution.

When I reviewed this problem, I tried to do so over and over and came up with the following solution: Link

Please take a look, I'm really looking for MGMAT expert advice on my solution approach and if it a) makes sense b) is the right way to apply the consecutive integer theory to this question

Thanks in advance,

Bhavin

Your link doesn't work, but the only connection this one has to consecutive integers is that one solution involves adding a bunch of consecutive integers. If you use that solution method, you will definitely make use of that property of consecutive integers. I prefer the combinatorics solution, but it's good to be familiar with all the solution methods..
