CR testing strategy

by sha55 Mon Oct 10, 2011 3:01 pm

Hi,

I took my 2nd CAT exam this weekend. I was surprised that I didn’t do so well on critical reasoning. On the OG practice problems, I typically can get most 600-700 level problems correct and maybe 50% of 700-800 level problems (averaging 2:35). When I revisited CAT exam problems after the test, I got all the 600-700 ones right. I think because of the time pressure, I’m not going through my normal thought process.

Any advice on how to stick to the established methods and process during the exam as oppose to breezing through without fully grasping or processing the information?

Also, the logic in 700-800 level problems is much more subtle, any advice on how to tackling those differently from 600-700 level problems. Will I need to get some of those correct to score 700.

Thanks,
shasha

hi --

* this is the wrong folder for this thread. this is the GMAT PREP folder; your question is not about a problem from the gmat prep software.
please post your question in the proper folder (General folder, where questions about test strategy belong).

* when you post your new thread, keep in mind -- it's impossible to have a testing strategy based on "difficulty levels", since you won't have any idea what those levels are while you're taking the test.

please post your thread in the correct folder. thanks!
