I'm sorry you had a rough test experience.
If you're feeling totally burned out, then yes, give yourself a week or two off. But first figure out what you're going to do, so that you feel comfortable giving yourself a break.
If you took one of our Guided Self-Study packages, then you're eligible for a free Post-Exam Assessment (if you haven't done it already). This is a phone call with an instructor to figure out what went wrong and come up with a plan to re-take the test. If this applies to you, please send an email to
studentservices@manhattangmat.com and request the Post-Exam Assessment.
If you haven't taken a recent practice test under official conditions (including IR and essay), then I recommend doing so before you do the PEA. The teacher needs some good data to assess your case.
Read this:
https://www.manhattangmat.com/blog/inde ... lly-tests/Use the below to analyze your most recent MGMAT CAT(s):
http://www.manhattangmat.com/blog/index ... ice-tests/Then come back here and tell us the results of your analysis and what you think you should do based on that analysis. We'll tell you whether we agree and advise you further. (Note: do share an analysis with us, not just the raw data. Part of getting better is developing your ability to analyze your results - figure out what they mean and what you think you should do about them!)
Finally, think about WHY the test went so badly. Was the score drop from both sections or primarily just one? Did you have timing issues? (Before you answer that, go analyze your CATs using my above article - lots of people *think* their timing is fine when it's not.)
Did you take practice tests under non-official conditions, which could have inflated your practice test scores? If that's the case, then the real test score might not have reflected an actual drop in performance.
Did you have stamina issues? Here's what that feels like:
