Do you write the original question on your scratch paper?

by Guest Tue Feb 03, 2009 11:45 pm

I've always taken the time to write a math problem on my scratch paper and then solve it. (excluding word problems of course)

I was wondering if these few seconds were worth it? I'm afraid if I don't copy the problem exactly as it is on the computer then I might miss something, but maybe I should start practicing writing down the first step instead of the original problem.

What is everyone else doing?

I ALWAYS write down the original as given, and THEN DOUBLE-CHECK to make sure I wrote it down correctly. What's worse: a few seconds off the top of each question, or wasting a couple minutes getting a question WRONG when you could have gotten it RIGHT?

AKA, keep doing what you're doing!
