Exponent DS

Q. If p^3 X q^2 =200,is q=5?

1.q is positive integer
2.?????????????

As we prime factorize 200=2^3 X 5^2
So q=5 of q=-5

i think St. 1 is sufficient as it is eliminating q=-5 and confirming that q=5

Please correct me if i am wrong.

Statement 1 is not sufficient as we have 2 values -5 and 5 and we cannot eliminate any of them as both numbers when squared would give u a positive value

I don't think 1 is sufficient. My reasoning is that unless we know that p is also a positive integer, we could make p practically anything. For example, I could say that q is 10 and p is the cube root of 2, for example, which would fit both your statement and the information included in the question. I would have to know that both p and q are integers to be able to narrow down the possibilities.
