GMAT Scratch Paper Q

I understand the people at the test center provide you with scratch paper for the exam.
I have read you are given 6 sheets of paper. Is that true?
Is each sheet equal to an A4 paper? So in essense I have 12 pages (6 double sides) of A4 paper as scratch paper to use (before I can ask for the scrach to be replaced)?

The standard is a booklet of 5 sheets of A4 graph paper (oversized). One side of one sheet has instructions, so there are 9 surfaces to use. You can get more, but you have to turn in the old booklet to get a new one; plan to do so on the breaks so that you don't have to interrupt your test. (It doesn't have to be completely used in order to ask for a new booklet.)

Note: I have heard from some students in India recently that they did NOT have the standard paper size - it was larger than 8.5 x 11, but a bit smaller than A4.

If you're concerned about this, call your local test center and ask them for details of the scrap paper for the GMAT. (Make sure to specify that you're taking the GMAT - the rules are different for different tests.)
