GMATPrep question

by curtisyasutake Tue Jul 24, 2012 12:08 am

Is n > 6?

1) sqrt(n) > 2.5
2) n > sqrt(37)

The answer is D.

It seems to me that the answer should be A. The information in 2) appears to be insufficient: If n > sqrt(37), isn't it possible that n > 6 or n < -6? If this is the case, we wouldn't be able to tell from 2) whether n > 6.
