Help for a second GMAT attempt got a 650 :(- please!!

by smandke84 Sun Apr 07, 2013 10:01 pm

A hello Gurus and friends of MGMAT,
I have been involved in GMAT prep since Oct 2012. Sorry to say, but my actual score and the mock ones are not very close -
GMAT mock scores:
MGMAT 1 - 650,
MGMAT 2 - 660
MGMAT 3 - 690
MGMAT 3 - 680 - One week before the real deal !!
GMATPrep 1 & 2 - 700

I got 700 twice with almost little of less of repeated questions. I tried to focus on my mistakes from OG, MGMAT etc. I also kept an error log. Alas, the GMAT was unforgiving and ruthless!!

I am part of an over-represented indian IT male community. What approach is needed for scoring 700+? Please share some tips..

We'd be happy to help however we can. We need a lot more data from you in order to advise you. :)

What were your Q and V practice scores and how did they compare to your real GMAT score?

How was your timing? Stamina?

Use this to analyze your most recent MGMAT CATs:

Then come back here and tell us the results of your analysis and what you think you should do based on that analysis. We'll tell you whether we agree and advise you further. (Note: do share an analysis with us, not just the raw data. Part of getting better is developing your ability to analyze your results - figure out what they mean and what you think you should do about them!)

Also, check this out:

And since pretty much everyone has timing problems, read the first two first (short), then the third one (long, and start doing what it says!):

Thanks!

I used to get 33-35 in Verbal. Quant was more or less consistent.

On exam day I got 27 Verbal and 49 Quant...

And what about the rest of the data? Your strengths and weaknesses, timing, stamina, etc?

Basically, I need to know everything I asked about in my last post. :)
