Help needed on algebric word translation problems

by sivai87 Mon Jul 04, 2011 12:10 am

Can any one of you please clarify whether "There are twice as many apples as bananas " and "There are two times as many apples as bananas " do mean the same thing? I.e Number of apples = 2 * number of bananas.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, the wording means exactly the same thing for both examples.
