How to best use OG, OG-QR, and OG-VR guides.

by henriso Sat Mar 08, 2014 11:46 pm

Hello MGMAT,

I just finished going through all of the MGMAT study guides. I did the problems in the study guides, but did not do the OG, QR, and VR books. At the time my reasoning was that I did not want to run out of practice material once I was done studying by topic.

Now I am unsure how to use the OG guides. Do I just go through each problem one by one in the order they appear in the guides?

I only have 3 MGMAT CATs left, so Ideally I'd like to use the OG problems to imitate CATs, so I can practice timing and mixed question types.

Please advise on how to make the most out of the OG guides.

Thank you.

You're in luck! I just wrote an article about how to set up problem sets for yourself. Look here:

Note that you do NOT want to create problem sets of 37 (quant) or 41 (verbal) questions. You want to iterate in smaller sets - do 5, 10, 15 questions, then learn from them before you do more. With each set, you'll get better and better because you'll be able to apply lessons from the problems you've already analyzed.

Here's how to analyze problems:
