How to target weaknesses in Quant?

by 21727 Thu May 08, 2014 12:14 pm

Hi all,

I have a quick question - I have prepped using the self-study package for around 2 months and have 3 weeks left until the exam. My most recent MGMAT CAT (#3) landed at 700 (Q42/54% ; V42/96%), and I am now wondering specifically how to target my weaknesses in Quant, as Quant is the area I need to focus on. I have done all the problems in the OG13 and have kept an error log. Should I e.g. do random timed sets from the OG13 review books, or should I do only the problems related to my weak areas for a week, take a new CAT, identify new weaknesses, and repeat? Everybody says that targeting your weaknesses is important but I am unsure as to HOW to exactly do that, while still getting a broad review over these last 3 weeks.

Thanks so much in advance!!
Chris

Sorry to bump this up a few rows... Am leaning towards just working on weaknesses, follow up with a CAT, and repeat, all the way until the exam - any thoughts on this strategy?

Hi,
Wrong folder for this question. Please re-post in the General GMAT Strategy folder (= first folder on the forum home page).

Thanks.

Also, FYI"”
We answer questions within each folder from oldest to newest. So, the only effect of "bumping this up a few rows" will be that we'll take longer to answer your question.
