This is probably my last post before making my final decision but I will definitely look forward to being a resource for future students!
I have been admitted to both the University of Rochester/Simon School of Business and IBEAR at USC Marshall. I aim to transition into a career in supply chain management although still very open to the financial services industry which is where I have spent my 7 year career thus far.
I know much about Simon and have received a very generous offer of $45,000 over two years. The program is very quant intense and offers a steady route into a variety of industries and the alumni network seems almost second to none.
I have also received a scholarship offer from IBEAR USC. The program mainly interests me due to the prestige of the Marshall brand and the alumni connections and it is 1 year from start to finish. However, I am concerned that most of the recruiting takes place in California and I would not be readily offered internship opportunities once having completed the program. All the same, I could probably land a sweet internship post-graduation and career transition as I had initially intended.
So my questions: is completing the IBEAR 1 year program with an internship immediately thereafter a meaningful career path in order to career transition? My gut instinct tells me this is an unconventional route but worth a shot all the same. I am especially inspired by the international students and the focus on managing in a global economy which I know will serve me in my career afterward.
Any and all insights are appreciated per usual!
