Idioms

by mobenny Fri Sep 18, 2009 2:50 pm

In terms of importance ... how important is understanding idioms. This aspect of the verbal seems like a huge time commitment due to the number of different idioms. Trying to figure out if it is a worthwhile investment.

Thanks,

Moses

well, you WILL encounter idioms in problems. so, whenever you encounter an idiom you don't know, or on which you hesitate, just write it down (in a notebook or on a flash card).

you don't necessarily have to study idioms separately; just notice them when they come up in problems, and note the ones you don't already know.
