Can Someone help me to Solve this following problem without usuing VIC/plugging in number.---for some reason I can't solve this without the VIC apporach

If it is assumed that each of the n production workers in a factory assembles one instrument every t minutes, how many instruments does the factory assemble in 7.5 hours of production?
(A) 450 n/t
B) (450 t)/n
c) 450nt
d) (7.5 tn)/60
e) 7.5n/60

If n workers produce 1 item in t minutes => n workers produce 1/t items in one minute.
In 7.5 hours, they will produce=>n * 7.5*60 * (1/t) = 450n/t

Let me know if that is not the correct answer.

Thanks

Sorry I am not clear with the solution.

Ok I get the first part :n workers produce 1/t items in one minute.

I don't get how can you multiply n * 7.5*60 * (1/t)----> Iam not ableto get the n in the equation.

It might be easier to think of it like this:

One worker can make 1 item in t minutes. Therefore in 7.5 hours, the one worker can produce the following number of items:

1 item 60 minutes 7.5 hours 450
___ x _______________ x = _____________

t minutes 1 hour t

(Basically, what I did was find the relationship between hours & minutes -- and cancel them out of the equation since both are in the numerator and denominator)

Now, if 1 worker can produce 450 / t items, then 4 workers can produce:

4 workers x 450
____

t

This is the same as:

n x 450 450 n
____ or _______ CORRECT ANSWER: A
t t

Did that make sense? Hope it helps!

Previous post is hard to read because the website automatically reformatted my typing. THIS VERSION IS EASIER TO READ.

It might be easier to think of it like this:

One worker can make 1 item in t minutes. Therefore in 7.5 hours, the one worker can produce the following number of items:

( 1 item / t minutes) x ( 60 minutes / 1 hour ) x 7.5 hours = 450 / t

(Basically, what I did was find the relationship between hours & minutes -- and cancel them out of the equation since both are in the numerator and denominator)

Now, if 1 worker can produce 450 / t items, then 4 workers can produce:

4 workers x ( 450 / t )

Since there are n workers, the factory can make:

n workers x ( 450 / t ) items

This is the same as: ( 450 n )/ t

CORRECT ANSWER: A

Did that make sense? Hope it helps!
