Inequalities Foundations of GMAT Math Drill 11 - Problem 51

by kapoor.sam Thu Jul 19, 2012 6:20 pm

Problem:
|-4x/5 + 2/3| <= 7/15

In the answer given on page 365:
In the positive case:

LCM is 15 which cancels out on both sides

What I get is:

-12x + 10 <= 7

However, in the answer set it is

12x + 10 <= 7

I think this is a mistake but I did not find it in the errata.
Can anyone help?

the final answer is correct; the book just left off a minus sign in front of the 12s in the last few lines. you can report errata at http://www.manhattangmat.com/errata.cfm
