Hi,
I am planning to apply to ISB for 2013-2014. Here is my profile.
Origin: Male, India, 32 years old
Job: Software Engineer ( 8 years )
Bachelors in computer science (80%)
Masters in Computer Science from Clemson University (GPA: 3.7)
GMAT: 740 (Q-49 V-41)
Highschool (+1 and +2) - 92%
In the past 8 years, I worked for 2 fortune-500 companies (both featured in top 10 of "forbes top companies to work for" and my current company was no.1 a couple of years ago). I don't have any managerial experience. I have decent extra curricular activities but nothing outstanding.
Currently I am targeting product management but I also have some interest in finance and consulting. I am debating whether ISB is the right choice for me or since I am already in US, should I apply for any top US schools?
With a typical Indian s/w engg profile, I wonder what my chances are to get into ISB. I can think of a few advantages in applying to ISB.
1) I don't have to be on F-1 visa for full time MBA in US.
2) The program is among top ranked ones in the world and the cost is much less compared to schools in US or Europe.
The disadvantages I can think of are:
1) 1 year. I don't know if 1 year programs are as rigorous as 2 years programs for people who want to switch careers.
Any help is appreciated.
