Manhattan Guide 3 Word Problems Chap 9 Opening Example

by JoaoM763 Tue May 19, 2015 11:48 am

Hi,

The opening problem of Chapter 9 - Guide 3 "Word Problems" assumes only 16cm of overlapping (4 x 4cm). In my view there are in fact 32cm to account for two wired that overlap four times (4 x 4cm x 2). The stem might be correct but the draw made clear that the 4cm is not the sum of both wires but the section.
Am I corect? Or what did I get wrong?

Tks.

hi,

-- this is the wrong folder for this question; it belongs in the "MGMAT non-CAT math" folder.

-- when you re-post the question (in the correct folder), please transcribe the entire problem, exactly as originally written.

thanks.
