When referring to extracurricular activities, would Company sponspored organizations and events count? For example, i work in Finance but I am active in our companies Recruiting Events, New hire Integration programs and I work as a mentor at a local university with Finance & Accounting majors... However, all of these activites are sponsored by my employer... does it still count?

They count, but if all or most of your non-work activities are company-sponsored things, then it says you are a bit too much of a Company Man. As long as the company-sponsored stuff is just part of a wide range of stuff you're involved in, you'll be fine.
