What is the value of │x + 7│?

(1) │x + 3│= 14

Case 1
X + 3 = 14
X = 11

X+7 = 18
│X + 7│=18

Case 1
X + 3 = -14
X = -17

X+7 = -10
│X + 7│=10

Not Sufficient

(2) (x + 2)^2 = 169

(X + 2)^2 - 169 = 0
(X + 2)^2 - 13^2 = 0
(X + 2 + 13)(X + 2 - 13) = 0 [ a^2 - b^2 = (a+b)(a-b) ]
(X + 15)(X - 11) = 0

Case 1
(X + 15) = 0
X = -15

X+7 = -8
│X + 7│=8

Case 2
(X - 11) = 0
X = 11

X+7 = 18
│X + 7│=18

Not Suffucient

Using 1 and 2, we get X=11 as the common siolution. Hence Answer is D (both 1 and 2 required)
