1.Could you please state the approach to get the solution to the above problem quickly?

2. is rising interest rates plural? Could you please guide through this structure. Is it correct to use rising interest rates?

Using an approach based on splits:

1.- Rising interest vs a rise. <Rising interests> is preferable than <a rise> because GMAT usually prefers verbal forms rather than nominal forms.

Then, you are left with A and B.

2.- Between these two options:

A has it and them, which makes the sentence somewhat ambigous. I have some doubts about <makes it>. B is much clearer and concise than A.

Correct answer is B.

Ron, instructors, could you tell if the analysis is correct?
