OG Archer difficulty levels

by tgilham Sun Mar 11, 2012 5:11 pm

Hi, can someone tell me how to translate the quant difficulty ratings (out of 800) into a quant only score (or % quant rankings)? Is it correct to assume that a 600-700 quant difficulty rated question is one that c.65% to 90% of people get wrong? I.e. consistent with a 43 to 49-ish quant score?

Thanks

There isn't actually a conversion for this because, technically, the 3-digit scores apply ONLY to a combined quant+verbal score.

We use those 3-digit ratings because most people are familiar with them, that's all. And we provide the numbers simply to give people a general idea - if you're getting a lot of the 600-700 Qs right, then you're in a position to score at least that well on the test (assuming you're also getting a lot of the 600-700 Qs right in both quant and verbal). If you're also getting some of the 700-800 Qs right (again in both quant and verbal), then your score is more in the high 600s to low 700s range - that kind of thing.

That assumes that your timing is okay, though - if your timing is too far off, then you could be getting things right but then running out of time and experiencing a score drop.

In short: I don't have a real answer for you. :) The actual algorithm is way too complex.
