Profile evaluation

by aroon_abraham Thu Dec 29, 2011 9:00 pm

Hi,

Here's my profile:

28 yrs Male from India
GMAT - 680 [Math - 49, Verbal - 33]
Work Exp - 6 years in IT

Of the 6 years, i have spent almost 4 years working in the US (currently reside in US).
I work with a diverse section of people from India, US, Mexico and UK.
Currently lead IT projects for the company.

Community Activities:

Very active in my church in US.
Participate in Kids ministry, youth ministry, homeless ministry and Foster kids ministry.

At work i am an active participant in the CSR activities and also organization level initiatives beyond work.

What are my chances with the top schools in US / Canada?

I was under the impression that my GMAT scores are at disadvantage if i were to consider an IVY league school.

Please advise,
Arun

Hi! Your GMAT score is below the median for the top-tier schools, and you'll likely be slotted against other Indian male engineering candidates with scores in the 730+ range. To fight this weakness -- you need to differentiate yourself through your stories, as well as strong, clear goals as to why you are seeking an MBA.

Best of luck.
