Hi,

Thanks for submitting your profile. It's very interesting! I think your work as a technology manager at a non-profit is pretty interesting - definitely not traditional. Sounds like you've had some pretty good leadership experience at your company, too. I think your academic profile and work experience make you competitive at some top programs, but that you won't necessarily stand out on these dimensions.

That said, your community experience is fascinating and I imagine you'll have some interesting stories to tell on that front. I think this could really make you stand out as a candidate.

I don't see a lot of extracurricular leadership roles (leader of any clubs in college/grad school, marathon runner, or any formal hobbies/activities like that?), but I think you can overcome it.

I'd say you could target programs like University of Michigan and Duke, Yale, UCLA, NYU. Some other top social enterprise schools would be Berkeley, GSB, Kellogg - but these are probably reach schools with your profile. It wouldn't hurt to try for one of them though! Here's a list of of top social enterprise programs for you to review, too: http://poetsandquants.com/2010/08/13/so ... -programs/

Good luck!
Mili

Hi Mili,

Thank you so much for the quick reply.

I was the "head of finance" for the Indian Graduate Student Association at my grad school. I was the school rep in high school.

Not sure if they are valid.

Quick clarification: GSB would be Standford- Grad School of Business. Correct?

I'd definitely list that in your resume (the grad school position, not the high school one). High school is too far back, but college and grad school are fair game as long as it's within the past 3-5 years. The more recent, though, the better!

Yep - I'm referring to Stanford as a top social enterprise school.

Good luck,
Mili

Great Thank you so much! You've got me thinking! I also started a board game club in the local community! I never thought it was such a big deal. But looks like it is!

Thank you!

Hi Mili,

Sorry to bother you again. I am curious. Do you think my low GPA will have a negative effect on my apps? Should I write GMAT again and try to get a better score? Would that help? Would anything help?

Thanks a ton!

Hi Deepti,

It could -- if you have time and have confidence that you can really improve your score, it would certainly be helpful.

Good luck!
