Profile evaluation

by 1711sonu Thu Oct 25, 2012 8:04 am

Hi,
I am planning to appear for GMAT and scoring 680-710 on an average an it seems that probably will end up getting the similar range in actuals.
I am an 31 year old Ex Indian Army officer with 7.3 years as commissioned officer, and almost 1.5 years with one of the big 4 Financial consultant in Administration.
I have a not so good grad score. Bsc (Maths) 68.72%, actively took participation in NCC (National Cadet Corps), boxing, football during College. did well in Military Academy as well (Gold medalist in boxing, MC for event headed by Governor).
How my profile is seen , and which are the right schools for me in US (I am trying for Kelloggs). kindly guide me.

Hello,

I think your military leadership experience will definitely set you apart! If you can break that 700 barrier on the GMAT, it would help to offset your slightly low GPA. Since you've been consulting, have you taken on any extracurriculars or community activities? It would be great if you were still active in sports, etc.

As for which programs you should aim for, it's difficult to say without knowing what your interests and goals are. I'd also need to know what you are looking for in an MBA program.

Kellogg may be possible - I wouldn't say it's guaranteed by any means, but it's not impossible. Really depends on the quality of your leadership and life stories/experience.

Best,
Mili
