"Allen's work is a rather extreme example of the "country community" school of seventeenth-century English history whose intemperate excesses in removing all national issues from the history of that period have been exposed by Professor Clive Holmes. "

This is a sentence in Essay#6.
Can some one explain the meaning of this sentence for me?
I don't really get the position of the Professor from this sentence.

Thanks~!

hmm? "essay #6" -- what does this mean? what is the source of this sentence?

this post does not obey the forum rules -- you can't just post a fragment of a passage. the forum rules explicitly state that you must post passages in their entirety.
please re-post this passage in its entirety (you can probably find it somewhere on the internet, if you search for strings of text that are in it), and then restate your question. thanks.
