The question you ask doesn't have a solid answer, but some questions of this type do. In the absence of a specific question, i'll go ahead and give you a general strategy: look for patterns.
Often the problem is written so that you can plug in a single value and get a definitive answer (this can only work for problem solving, not data sufficiency). Other times you will compile a list of data from plugging in some values and start looking for patterns. Of course, if you want to prove that something is insufficient in DS you need to know WHY the pattern will always hold, but the bottom line in problems like this (without getting into advanced number theory) is to experiment and figure out what the patterns are..
