A one million-year-old skull bearing traits associated both with Homo erectus and, in addition, Homo sapiens has been found in the Afar region of Eritrea, and indicates that modern humans developed much earlier than previously thought.
I thought the sentence meant, A one million year old skull has been found in Afar and 1M old skull indicates that modern humans developed much earlier.
Had the sentence be framed:
A one million-year-old skull bearing traits associated both with Homo erectus and Homo sapiens has been found in the Afar region of Eritrea and indicates that modern humans developed much earlier than previously thought.
OR
A one million-year-old skull bearing traits associated both with Homo erectus and, in addition, Homo sapiens has been found in the Afar region of Eritrea, and it indicates that modern humans developed much earlier than previously thought.
Do they match my line of thinking?
