Scoring System for CATS- I hope it's correct

by vikramsumer Sun Apr 01, 2012 11:05 am

I just gave CAT 1 and got a dismal 670. However, I think I should have scored even less. Here is why

I got 17 ques incorrect, more importantly I had this terrible slide where once I made 4 questions incorrect in a row, and if that was not enough I made an another blunder with 6 questions wrong in a row. To top this, I made many other mistakes...

I scored 45 in Quant... Does this make sense...

Just 2 months to go and I badly need to make some quick progress..

Thanks for your Time
Sam

Yes, the scoring system is fine. :) You can get lots of questions wrong and still get a good score.

I'll suggest that you read the Scoring section of our free e-book The GMAT Uncovered Guide. If you understand how the scoring works, then you'll be a much better test taker. (The e-book is already in your student center - go look for it!)

Now, the bigger questions are: why did you have 4 in a row wrong and another 6 in a row wrong? Why did you make the mistakes that you made and how are you going to get better?

I'm going to guess that at least part of the problem is timing:
