Self study sequence

I bought the Manhattan GMAT math guides, and I am studying on my own. I'd like to know if I can get some direction: is there a suggested order of work?

Thanks in advance.

ManhattanGMAT Math Strategy Guide Study Order

by ayang Wed Apr 18, 2007 4:38 pm

mtepper,

The order of studying the Guides is something of a personal decision. The order in the ManhattanGMAT curriculum is:

1. Number Properties
2. Equations, Inequalities, and VICs
3. Word Translations
4. FDPs
5. Geometry

However, there are a lot of variables that go into curriculum ordering. You may want to reorder, based on your proficiency with certain topic areas.

In approximate level of difficulty, from easiest to hardest:

1. FDPs
2. Geometry
3. Equations, Inequalities, and VICs
4. Number Properties
5. Word Translations

From how often they're tested, from most common to least common (roughly):

1. Number Properties
2. Word Translations
3. Equations, Inequalities, and VICs
4. FDPs
5. Geometry

Hope that this is helpful! Let us know if there's anything else we can do. - Andrew
