Slopes

Hi,

If a question says that the 2 slopes are equal can we safely say that the lines are parallel, I ask this bacause the line may be the same.. My confusion arises from a question in Mgmat exam, which asked wether the 2 lines intersect and even the the slopes were equal it argued that it may be the same line and may intersect.. So please explain...Thnx

I guess if the lines are the same then they will be running right on top of each other, so you can call them intersecting lines. And if there is nothing in the problem that eliminates the possibility of having same lines then interection is possible.
