Solution Problem

by todd Thu Jun 02, 2011 10:24 pm

If you take 4 ounces of a 2% solution and dilute it to 10 ounces, what is the new % solution?

Thanks in advance....

todd,

4 ounces - 2% (0.08/4=2%)
14 ounces - 0.57% (0.08/14=0.057%)

You are on the right track! Actually, it's being diluted to 10 ounces (adding 6 ounces), so it's:

10 ounces - (.08/10 = .008).

Thanks,...

The .08 comes from the % multiplied times the ounces?
