Stuck at 37 for Quant

by ixjoec Sat Dec 01, 2012 10:53 pm

Hello,

My Quant hasn't improved. I've taken four CAT exams and my quant score has been the stuck at 37. My Verbal has been around 28-35. I'm working on my timing issues but can't seem to get the accuracy and speed.

I've been practicing off the OF 13th edition for math and verbal and do better on those than the CAT exams.

Any suggestions? Just getting frustrated.

Happy to help; if it's any consolation, you're not the only person getting frustrated / stuck.

We need a lot more information to figure out what's going on and what to do about it. :)

What are you using to study (meaning: what are you using to learn how to do better - not just what practice problems are you using)? Books? Lessons? Classes? Etc.

How are you studying?

How much time did you spend between those 4 practice tests? (Are we talking a few days / weeks - in which case there's just not that much time? Or has this been going on for a long time, in which case there's something not good about the approach / how you're studying?)

Has your verbal score been steadily rising from 28 to 35? (good) Or is it fluctuating back and forth? (not good)

Read this, expecially the section on how to study:

Timing help here:

You can also use the below to analyze your most recent MGMAT CAT(s):
http://www.manhattangmat.com/blog/index ... ice-tests/

Then come back here and tell us the results of your analysis and what you think you should do based on that analysis. (Note: do share an analysis with us, not just the raw data. Part of getting better is developing your ability to analyze your results - figure out what they mean and what you think you should do about them!)
