Undefined form of an expression

by blink005 Fri Sep 30, 2011 6:57 am

Hi,
I found this Data Sufficiency question on a forum; I don't know the source.

http://gmatclub.com/forum/is-x-y-less-t ... ml#p980656

Question-
Is x^y less than or equal to y^x?

1) rootx=y

2) x=2y

1+2
One of the possible solutions is y=0
x^y is 0^0
y^x is 0^0

So, is it C or E?

I ran into one of the older posts and it was clearly indicated that

"Don't worry about 0^0 - there's some disagreement among mathematicians about whether it equals zero or is undefined. You won't need to evaluate 0^0 on the GMAT."
