What is wrong with me?

I've been studying the GMAT math for sometime now, (almost 2 months).
I just took the Basic Math Diagnostic test and scored 80% on it and it was fairly easy yet every time I took a CAT test the highest I scored was in the 34 percentile. could someone please tell me what I am doing wrong. I can't deny it - I am getting depressed :-(
