How many times to do each logic game?

by k.s Mon Nov 08, 2010 11:06 am

Hi LSAT tutors! I'm really impressed with the Atlas guides!! So, thanks for that! I have a question about logic games. In the free video, one of the tutors mentions that he did each logic game 10 times! I heard that tip somewhere before. My question is: How long should I wait before doing it again? Ten times over what period of time?
Thanks so much!! Katerina

Hey Katerina,

I usually recommend that you do these games 6 or 7 times each over the course of 8-10 weeks of prep. Here's what I usually hear from people that I can convince to repeat these games so many times.

After each attempt

1st attempt: Wow, that one felt really different. I don't know... there was just something about it that felt new.
2nd attempt: I got through it much faster. i know how to work through the game but I still made a stupid mistake and missed one.
3rd attempt: It's so much easier now.
4th attempt: Well, I just know the game now. Of course it's simple.
5th attempt: I'm kinda wasting my time, I know all the answers and I'm just going through the motions.
6th attempt: huh! That's weird, you know the same thing happens in the "birds in a forest" game.

Once you start seeing connections between games, the pattern becomes much more clear... and that's how games become fun.

And give some time between each repetition - at least 4 or 5 days.
