Why is answer choice D correct? Is it because of ln 45-50?

I picked B because I remember in the first paragraph it mentions about women's groups raising money but then I realized that it was wrong because the passage didn't mention anything about specific women's foreign mission society and that the passage mentioned that women's groups were raising money to donate support of single women's missionaries abroad.

How is D correct?

the question is about a factor that contributed to the phenomenon that happened. We are told that the money raised is the turning point. The cultural conventions of the host society is discussed more as a benefit. Basically, because more women physicians came to our base in Iraq, I was comfortable with a woman look inside my whoo-Haa, were as I will never seek treatment because the doctor was a man. Is B wrong because the wording is specific whereas the passage discusses it more as overall general contributions?
