I was not sure about (C)...is it the part that "they heard verbal testimony" and "both interpreted what they had heard and determined matters of fact"? But not sure "heard verbal testimony"="ascertain the facts and interpreted what they had heard" and "determined matters of fact"="interpreted the laws"...

Hey Strawberry,

In this case, you can just be logical. The whole point of a jury is to hear the case and try to figure out what happened--so that ascertaining the facts. The part about interpreting laws comes from the line you quoted.
