Hello I'm having trouble understanding why D is correct. An issue can't have more than 1industry feature choice D states 2 and 3 have a single industry feature. Does that mean choice 2 or 3 contain an industry feature

In D, even though slot 2 and 3 have a single industry feature, slot 2 and 3 holds a box containing Industry. That is ONE feature. You have to read the rules carefully and realize that a feature can actually have consecutive types (i.e. FF, MM, etc). In this case, it was I&I.

Hello,

Can someone explain to me how D doesn't violate the rule in stimulus that says: "any slot not containing a feature contains a graphic" ?
Because D says "slots 2 and 3: a single industry feature" meaning either slot 2 or 3 have industry feature, meaning one of them must contain graphic. Also even if we assume that it means both slots have industry feature, the rule "an issue can have at most one industry feature" is violated.

I'm very confused. All answer choices seem to be wrong to me...
Thank you for your help!

In the setup paragraph, they say that there are
"at least three features per issue, with each feature completely occupying one or more of the slots"

And the first rule is also speaking to this idea that a feature may occupy more than one of the five slots.

I write an industry feature that is three slots long, I can't break it up in slots 1, 3, and 5.

I have to put that one industry feature into three CONSECUTIVE slots, like 1/2/3 or 3/4/5.

The idea here is that some articles might be one-slot articles, but some articles might be two or three slot articles (the writer had a lot to say).

It can still be ONE feature, but occupy multiple (consecutive slots).

So in (D), the one industry feature is a two-slot feature, occupying spots 2 and 3.

Notice how in (B) they differentiate -- THERE, you have slots 2 and 3 occupied by two separate tech features. Slot 2 has a tech feature and slot 3 has "a SECOND tech feature".

In (D), slot 2 and 3 are occupied by "a SINGLE industry feature".

Hope this helps.
