Hi Manhattan Prep,
Even tho picking (D) the right answer, I was not completely sure how it actually resolve the issue about why the percentage of land animal fossils is only five percent.

I suppose that for this type of question, the correct should be able to explain all sides in a conflict/dilemma. Here, (D) only explains why the ocean environment can help fossils to be preserved quickly but I can't infer from this that the land environment does not have a similar condition to help preserve fossils.

Could you please let me know where my strategy or thinking is wrong?
