Hey J - sorry for the long delay! This one got buried in the mix. (since you're one of our students, if that happens again, just e-mail us and we'll be sure to jump on your post).

And, here's the most annoying part: can you please post the question text you're asking about? Our numbering system, for very geeky reasons, is not perfect, so we ask folks to post the question and answer texts into the post - that way we know for sure we're discussing the same question. Since these are questions we write, there's no concern about LSAC copyright issues.

Sorry and thanks!

The question text says:

Scientist: Some spiritual leaders have made sound logical arguments for their beliefs. Nonetheless, that any religious belief is rational is unequivocally false. This has been confirmed by the fact that science has found no evidence that the claims of these leaders are not false.

Which of the following is mentioned as an opposing point to the main conclusion?

The answer choices say:

1) Spiritual belief is often not as irrational as might otherwise be claimed.

2) Rational arguments have, in fact, been successfully made by spiritual leaders.

This argument fits well into a classic LSAT argument structure:

Some people say X
They're wrong
Here's why

The second bit is the conclusion, with the final bit acting as support.

The tough bit about this question is that the correct answer is slightly different than the first sentence; however, "rational" is a decent replacement for "logical."
