I’ve been through the usual study carousel, flashcards, colour-coded notes, fancy apps, long nights rewriting everything I already knew.
Most of it felt productive, but didn’t actually for my academically challenging degree.
The only thing that’s consistently worked for me:
Go through my material once
Turn it into questions
Test myself and see where I mess up
Only re-study those weak spots
Run it again a couple of days later
It’s not pretty, and it’s not comfortable. But I’ve stopped trusting my brain to just “absorb” stuff unless I’m pulling it out under pressure; it’s not really there.
It’s worked for me.
What about you? Got a system that’s actually held up over time?
